The senior pastor of the Global Citadel Community Church, Tunde Bakare has recommended some form of regulations to ensure that social media is not abused by those who deploy it to spread Fake News.

Bakare who spoke on Arise TV on Monday said while he would not support excessive regulation of the system as being proposed by the government, regulation tools should be employed to ensure that the rights of others are not abused by users of social media.

The senior pastor of the former Latter Rain Assembly also urged the government to bring the perpetrators of the mass killing at Lekki Toll Plaza expeditiously as a deterrent to repeating such dastardly acts in the future.

He said the moment those who were involved in the shooting of unarmed #endsars protesters were not brought to justice, the nation will be laying the foundation for injustice.

The cleric also touched on other issues, including why the organisers of the #endsars failed compared to past protests in the country.

According to him, lack of a clear leader among the #endsars campaigners led to class suicide and the failure to seize the opportunity to negotiate with the government for the realisation of their objectives.

He also blamed them for blocking the roads and preventing many Nigerians from free movement, saying “Where your right ends is when mine start from.”
