Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara has announced a minor cabinet reshuffle affecting key positions in the state government.

The reshuffle involves the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Zacchaeus Adangor, and the Commissioner for Finance, Isaac Kamalu.

According to a statement released on Tuesday by the Secretary to the Rivers State Government, Tammy Danagogo, Governor Fubara has redeployed Adangor to the Ministry of Special Duties within the Governor’s Office, while Kamalu has been transferred to the Ministry of Employment Generation and Economic Empowerment.

The directive outlined in the statement mandates both officials to promptly hand over all official documents pertinent to their former offices to their respective Permanent Secretaries, with immediate effect.

The statement underscored the urgency of completing all handover processes without delay.

Adangor and Kamalu, both known loyalists of former Governor Nyesom Wike, had previously resigned from their positions amid political turmoil and tensions between Governor Fubara and his predecessor, who now serves as the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

However, as part of a peace agreement initiated by President Bola Tinubu, they were reinstated to their roles.

While the Rivers State Government did not provide specific reasons for the redeployment, the reshuffle marks a strategic move by Governor Fubara to optimize governance and align the state’s leadership with his administration’s priorities.

As stakeholders observe these developments, the implications of the reshuffle on the state’s political landscape and governance dynamics remain subjects of keen interest and scrutiny.
