The Federal Government of Nigeria has issued a statement refuting claims of discussions regarding the establishment of foreign military bases in the country.

The government categorically denies engaging in any such dialogue with foreign nations and urges the public to dismiss these unfounded rumors.

In a clear rebuttal of the speculations circulating in certain quarters, government officials emphasized that there have been no proposals received nor are there any ongoing considerations for the siting of foreign military bases within Nigeria’s borders.

“We urge the general public to totally disregard this falsehood,” stated government representatives, reaffirming the country’s stance on the matter.

The Nigerian government remains steadfast in its commitment to national sovereignty and security, asserting that no discussions on foreign military bases have taken place.

While addressing ongoing security challenges, the government highlighted its existing collaborations with foreign partners and reiterated its dedication to enhancing these alliances. President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration remains focused on leveraging international cooperation to advance the national security objectives outlined in the Renewed Hope Agenda.

The statement serves as a clear directive from the Federal Government to dispel misconceptions and reaffirm its position on matters concerning foreign military presence within Nigerian territory.

As the government continues to address security concerns and foster diplomatic relations, it underscores the importance of clarity and transparency in communicating its stance on sensitive issues affecting national security and sovereignty.
