President Muhammadu Buhari has written to the Senate to seek the red chamber approval for the issuance of promissory notes totalling over N402 billion to three states of the federation.
The president in two separate requests, ask the senate to approve N375 billion first tranche for settling outstanding claims owed various exporters for the Export Expansion Scheme.
The second request asked the red chamber to approve N6.71 billion and N2.71 billion to be routed through Debt Management Offices (DMO) for the Kebbi State Government on the construction of federal roads and for the Taraba State Government for constructing federal roads as well.

President Buhari also made a request for another approval of the Senate on the issuance of N18.62 billion for the Kebbi State.
Also, in the letter, the president sought approval for the payment of N18.62 billion to the Yobe State Government, through the DMO to help the state offset all monies, expended on the execution of five different federal road projects in the state.
The President, in separate letters, sought expeditious consideration of the requests.
