Abbey Mortgage Bank hosts charity walk to promote autism awareness in Nigeria

Abbey Mortgage Bank took a philanthropic stride on Saturday, May 4th, 2024, by organizing a charity walk aimed at raising awareness for autism and highlighting the importance of understanding and supporting individuals with the disorder.

Dubbed the “Abbey Walk for Autism Awareness,” this year’s event witnessed employees of Abbey Mortgage Bank, led by their MD/CEO Mobolaji Adewumi, embarking on a meaningful journey from the bank’s headquarters on Karimu Kotun to Falomo Bridge Ikoyi, via Alfred Rewane road, before returning to the office.

The walk, aligned with Autism Awareness Month, typically observed in April, carried the theme ‘Aligning SDGs with Autism: Empowerment, Challenges, and Victories,’ aiming to foster awareness and sensitize Nigerians on autism to advocate for equal opportunities and freedom for affected individuals.

In his remarks during the autism awareness walk, Mobolaji Adewumi, MD/CEO of Abbey Mortgage Bank, expressed the institution’s commitment to not only fulfilling dreams through its mortgage and financial services but also supporting causes that significantly impact people’s lives.

Adewumi emphasized the importance of autism awareness, stressing that despite its widespread prevalence, understanding and awareness of the disorder remain limited in many communities.

The Abbey Walk served as a notable component of the bank’s 32nd-anniversary celebrations, underscoring Abbey Mortgage Bank’s dedication to not only providing financial solutions but also backing and promoting awareness for significant causes.
