In an unexpected turn of events within Rivers State’s political landscape, former Governor Peter Odili has thrown his weight behind Governor Siminalayi Fubara, endorsing him as the political leader of the state, citing his stalwart defense of the populace’s interests.

During Thursday’s unveiling of a primary healthcare center facilitated by his PAMO Foundation in Ndoni, his hometown situated in the Ogba-Egbema-Ndoni Local Government Area, Odili made his endorsement public.

He lauded Fubara, who clinched victory both at the polls and in the judiciary, as the new political helmsman of the oil-rich South-South state.

Highlighting the strategic significance of Rivers State, Odili cautioned that any disturbance within the state reverberates throughout the entire nation, emphasizing the need for Fubara to govern with a keen awareness of this reality.

Assessing Fubara’s inaugural year in office, Odili commended the governor for pioneering advancements across pivotal sectors, particularly in prioritizing the populace’s welfare.

He underscored Fubara’s synchronization with President Bola Tinubu’s agenda, particularly evident in the healthcare realm, post the Federal Government’s recent launch of the Primary Healthcare Fellows scheme.

Encouraging Fubara to sustain this harmony with the president and his policies, Odili asserted that such alignment could serve as a catalyst for attracting federal support and attention to Rivers State.
