CHURCH BUSINESS: Ministry is about people

By Oludare Mayowa

When Christ was about to begin his ministry, he first called out Peter and the rest and told them that he would make them fishers of men.

Those were his first line of contacts with the world and it was thereafter he began to minister to others.

We can say without mincing word that without people Jesus ministry would not have succeeded. He actually needed the people, the disciples to ensure the continuity of His ministry on earth, otherwise, His effort on this part of the divide would have come to nothing after his death and resurrection.

Your first assignment and your primary concerns as a leader should be on how to ensure that people within your circle are pleased with not only your ministry but also your personality, the organisation you represent and the quality of your service to God.

Those who come under your ministry have a thousand and one options of ministries to go to, no matter the quality of your ministrations, if your ministration does not make any impact on their lives, it’s a matter of time for them to migrate to greener pasture to feed on.

You must also realise that people who come to you are there because they need something from you that they don’t have. Also, you must realise that those who come to you also have some things you don’t have.

What that also means is that both of you are value carrier and value exchangers. Your ministry must impact their lives for good before they can be a blessing to you and the work the Lord has committed to your hands.

How do you treat people who are available to add value to your life?

How do you relate with your ministry helper who God has sent on your way?

Your answer to these questions is important to unlock your ascendancy to the place God has ordained for you.

Your congregation are your customers and consumers of the product you’re selling and how much of your product they accept, the more successful you will become.

God will not do what he needs to do until man do what he need to do. Also you must note that man will not do what he needs to do until God direct him to do it.

At the end of the day, God and man are partners in the fulfillment of your ministries, so as you honour God, do not neglect the value of the relationship He has brought your way for your personal benefits and that of mankind.

Your vision and mission is all about people and until you put that in the centre of your activities, your journey to the Promised Land may be delayed and prolong.
