The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, exuded confidence as he declared that his political camp faces no challengers in the upcoming 2027 elections.

Wike made this assertion during a Thanksgiving service hosted by Barinada Mpigi in Koroma, Tai Local Government Area of Rivers State, on Sunday.

Wike emphasised the strength of his political forces, stating, “With the forces we have, I don’t know of anybody who can challenge us. I can tell you it is like tomorrow is 2027. For me, it is still very far; I can’t wait.”

He highlighted the remarkable unity within the political landscape of Rivers State, pointing out the rare cohesion between the ruling party, the APC, and the opposition party, the PDP.

He expressed the uniqueness of Rivers State’s political scenario, where, in the same election, the leading party secures the presidential victory while the opposition party claims the national assembly.

Wike underscored the significance of such unity, acknowledging the attempts of detractors to sow division but affirming the resilience of his political camp.

Amidst the political commentary, Wike extended his plea for support for President Bola Tinubu’s economic reform policies. Recognising the challenges of swiftly transforming the nation’s fortunes, Wike urged patience and cooperation.

He said, “God, in His infinite mercies, will continue to give us the strength to work together to support Mr. President.”

The event saw the presence of notable dignitaries, including Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Minister of Works Dave Umahi, and Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly Martin Amaewhule.

As political dynamics continue to unfold, Wike’s confidence sets the tone for the political landscape in the lead-up to the 2027 elections.
