UPDATE: Three people killed in Lagos Helicopter crash
Three people have been reportedly killed in the Helicopter crash that occurred in Opebi area of Lagos, of Friday, according to eyes witnesses accounts and unofficial reports.
“At the scene of the Helicopter crash in Opebi, Ikeja.LASEMA and other Emergency response services are on the ground and carrying out the necessary services,” Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, director-general of the LagosState Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) said.
Already, fire truck from the Lagos emergency agency is on the scene to put off possible fire and rescue occupants of the helicopter.
“The pilot seemed to avoid maximum casualty because I could hear the wing stop over our building before it managed to crash where it did,” a Twitter user wrote.
The identity of the owner of the helicopter remains unknown.
Eyes witness confirmed three dead from the accident, but no official position yet as efforts to contact the LASEMA has not been successful.
Videos posted on Twitter showed dead bodies recovered from the scene of the accident laid on stretchers and ready to be taking to the hospital.
But the LASEMA DG said his agency was having problems with crowd control as many people taking photo of the scene with their phone cameras and clog the way of the rescue mission.
