Two killed in Apapa-Oshodi expressway Sunday afternoon accident
An accident involved an articulated truck and a danfo bus along Apapa-Oshodi expressway on Sunday has killed two while three other people were rescued and taken to the Hospital.
In a statement, the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), the truck with registration number SGM 715 XA loaded with a 20ft container rammed into a stationary commercial bus at Ilasa under bridge while discharging some of its passengers.
“The impact of the fallen truck led to the immediate death of two passengers, one male and one female. Three other passengers including the bus driver were rescued with injuries and have been transferred to Isolo General Hospital by LASEMA’’s Responder,” LASEMA chief executive, Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu said in the statement.
Oke-Osanyintolu said the agency and men of Lagos State Transport Management Agency (LASTMA) were also on ground the ensure that the fallen truck and wreckage of the commercial bus are removed from the scene of the accident.
“LASTMA and The Nigerian Police are controlling the resultant traffic. We expect for normal traffic flow to resume shortly,” the statement said.
