Tinubu submits Wike, Elrufai, Umahi, Alake, Edun names among 28 ministerial nominees

Exactly 60 days after taking office, President Bola Tinubu sent his much-anticipated list of ministerial nominees, made up of 28 persons, to the Senate for screening and confirmation.

In a letter addressed to the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, and read to members of the Senate at the plenary, Tinubu asked the upper chamber to approve his ministerial nomination.

Femi Gbajabiamila, chief of staff to the president, brought the list while the plenary was on.

Among the names on the list are former governors of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, David Umahi of Ebonyi, Nasiru Elrufai of Kaduna, and Badaaru Abubakar of Jigawa State. Others on the list are the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) and long-standing counsel to President Tinubu, Lateef Fagbemi, and current presidential spokesman, Dele Alake.

Others are: Abubakar Momoh, Yusuf Miatama Tukur, Ahmed Dangiwa, Hannatu Musawa, Uche Nnaji, Berta Edu, Dorris Aniche Uzoka, Ekperipe Ekpo, and Nkiru Onyeojiocha.

Also included are Olubunmi Tunji Ojo, Stella Okotette, Uju Kennedy Ohaneye, Bello Muhammad, Muhammad Idris, Olawale Edun, Waheed Adebayo Adelabu, Iman Suleiman Ibrahim, Ali Pate, Joseph Utsev, Abubakar Kyari, John Eno, and Sani Abubakar Danladi.

According to the presidential communication, the list is not exhaustive; additional nominations will be sent in due course.
