The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has successfully energized a new 60/63MVA mobile power transformer at its 132/33kV Kwanar Dangora Transmission Substation in Kano State.

This development marks a significant upgrade for the substation, which previously had an installed capacity of 40MVA.

According to a statement signed by TCN’s General Manager of Public Affairs, Ndidi Mbah the newly energized transformer is set to alleviate the load on TCN’s Dan Agundi and Kumbotso Substations.

As a result, Kano DisCo will now be able to offtake electricity from the upgraded Kwanar Dangora Substation and distribute it to key areas including Dantata Rice Mill, NB Ceramic, Law School, Doguwa, Rano, Kura, Garin Mallam, and other neighboring local government areas in Kano.

This enhancement is expected to improve power reliability and distribution efficiency in the region, addressing both industrial and residential electricity demands.
