President Bola Tinubu has taken a series of significant administrative actions, including initiating a 90-day pre-retirement leave for the Director-General and CEO of the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), Aliyu Abubakar Aziz.

The directive, effective August 24, 2023, will lead to Aziz’s retirement from service on November 24, 2023.

In a parallel move, President Tinubu has approved the appointment of Bisoye Coker-Odusote to assume the role of Acting Director-General/CEO of the NIMC for a 90-day interim period. This transition will begin on August 24, 2023, and subsequently, Coker-Odusote will take on a full four-year term as the substantive NIMC Director-General/CEO, commencing on November 24, 2023.
