The governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara delivered a scathing rebuke to local government chairmen in the state during the commissioning of a Comprehensive Primary Health Centre (PHC) in Ndoni, Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni local government area.

The PHC, built and donated to the state government by former governor Peter Odili, served as the backdrop for Fubara’s pointed remarks.

Expressing his dismay at the absence of local government chairmen from state government activities, Fubara openly criticized their perceived disloyalty. He questioned their allegiance, implying that their priorities lay elsewhere, and warned that those who disrespect him will face consequences.

Surprised by the presence of Vincent Job, the local government chairman of Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni, at the event, Fubara hinted at the possibility of repercussions for participating in state affairs. He challenged their loyalty and suggested that their actions could lead to dismissal.

Asserting his determination to pursue the state’s agenda despite opposition, Fubara defended his administration’s focus on critical projects such as education and healthcare. He dismissed accusations of cluelessness, affirming his commitment to serving the people’s interests above political considerations.

Fubara’s remarks underscored the tension between his administration and local government officials, highlighting the complexities of governance in Rivers State. As the political landscape continues to evolve, the governor’s resolve to prioritize the welfare of his constituents remains unwavering.
