President Trump COVID infection, real or a stunt to win election?

On Monday, President Donald Trump left his VIP hospital room and headed to the White House despite strong objections from his medical team and counsellors. He promptly removed his facemask and once again downplayed the novel coronavirus despite the death of over 210,000 Americans caused by the virus.

He had earlier announced that he had contracted the virus and had suddenly announced he had defeated the virus.

Skeptics have received the president’s announcement that he was infected with the Coronavirus with a pinch of salt against the backdrop of a tweet by a Twitter user; @JohnCammo
trump october surprise tweet

John Cammo had written on his Twitter handle on September 18, long before Trump announced that; “Trump’s October surprise will be the announcement of ‘his infection.’ Fake, but quite dramatic. This twist will blow Biden off the screens, the “Trump COVID watch” dominating every minute of every day. Then, 14 days later, Trump will emerge, 100% cured by hydroxychloroquine.”

Many people were shocked when President Trump tweeted on October 2, 2020, that he and his wife have been infected with the dreaded disease. The accuracy of prediction by the relatively unknown John Cammon on Twitter a few weeks ahead of President Trump’s announcement was a confirmation many required to believe that the president of the United States had something up his sleeve with what now seems to be a bogus claim of Covid-19 infection.

A few days after being admitted into the hospital for quarantine and isolation, in a tweet dated Oct. 5, 2020, the president said, “I will be leaving the great Walter Reed Medical Center today at 6:30 P.M. Feeling really good! Don’t be afraid of COVID. Don’t let it dominate your life. We have developed, under the Trump Administration, some really great drugs & knowledge. I feel better than I did 20 years ago!”

He had once again expressed his lackadaisical attitude and denial of the potency of COVID-19 including his commitment to contradict scientific protocols that could eliminate the pandemic. This has left doubts and unanswered questions about his condition and/or his infection.

“We’re going back. We’re going back to work. We’re gonna be out front. As your leader, I had to do that. I knew there’s a danger to it but I had to do it,” Trump said in a strange campaign video within an hour of his return to the White House, in which he made himself as a warrior who took on the virus and won.

Despite warnings by Trump’s advisors and his doctors saying he was not completely “out of the woods”, Trump said, “I stood out front. I led. Nobody that’s a leader would do what I did. I know there’s a risk, there’s a danger,”

Before his arrival to the White House, measures have been put in place to protect those who will come across the President. Yet, Trump on his arrival, had seem uneager to adhere to those preventive measures and even removed his facemask while on the White House balcony.

A report said, he hasn’t been cured but merely wants to be available for the campaign as today is the last day for online voter registration in some states.

His tweet announcing his release from the hospital;

Has caused a lot of reaction and uproar including the Media. Twitter handle-@real_defender, replied
“Greatest news ever. It will be great to have our president back at the White House!”

Another Twitter handle, @HKrassenstein

“Wouldn’t it be nice if everyone could get the same care you have received without having to pay a single dime? You love universal health care when it’s benefiting you, don’t you?”

“So glad you’re feeling better!

We will make it through this stronger than ever.

I’m packing my bags & am headed for Pennsylvania.

Spending the next month doing everything in my power to ensure you win this November.”

Twitter handle; @mmpadellan also tweeted;
“You are a damn liar.

And a publicity stunt like this, and your disregard for its severity, is disrespectful to the 209,000 Americans who DIED alone without their families.

Voice-over actress, Tara Strong was not left out. In a reply with the twitter handle, @tarastrong, she said
“I can only imagine the rage felt by those who lost mothers, fathers, children, siblings, grandparents, friends, after reading this completely tone deaf ignorant dangerous tweet.”

While the tweet predicting his ‘COVID’ infection was out, through a general consensus, Trump seems to continue to enjoy the support of his fanatical base and the sympathy of few others. But the question on the lips of many people is that; would his stunt on Covid-19 swing the vote in his favour or would Joe Biden his main opposition in the November 3, election get the nod of the American people? This leaves the upcoming election hanging and uncertain. However, come November 3, Americans will decide.
