President Buhari consults service chiefs, others on rising insecurity
President Mohammadu Buhari on Tuesday reconvened the security council meeting to discuss the way forward on the rising insecurity in the country.
According to photos of the event posted on his social media platform, Presidential spokesman, Femi Adesina, the President is seen in the midst of his deputy, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, all the service chiefs, the National Security Adviser (NSA) Babagana Monguno, the Inspector general of Police and other top officials of the presidency.
Last week, the president held a similar meeting with the security chiefs and other members of the top echelons of the government to find solutions to the escalating security situation in the country.
The nation is awaiting patiently the outcome of the meeting, which they hopefully think would bring relief across the nation against killings by Boko Haram militias, bandits and herdsmen kidnapping and displacing farmers.
Over the weekend, more than a dozen people, including seven soldiers, were killed by Islamist militants in an attack in Mafa local government area of Borno State.
