PDP  accuses APC of diversionary tactics, holds President Tinubu responsible for nationwide hardship

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has issued a scathing critique of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Federal Government, accusing them of attacking PDP-affiliated state governors for vocalising concerns over the perceived failures of President Bola Tinubu and the APC administration.

The PDP contends that these failures have significantly contributed to the current economic hardships and escalating insecurity faced by Nigerians.

In an official statement endorsed by PDP National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, the opposition party reiterates its stance that the APC and the Tinubu-led government bear responsibility for the nation’s prevailing economic challenges and surging security crises.

The PDP argues that they are clearly overwhelmed and lack the requisite capacity and competence to lead a nation as complex as Nigeria.

The PDP asserts that the APC, by attempting to allocate President Tinubu’s statutory duties to state governors, tacitly admits to having installed an incompetent president incapable of ensuring security and managing the national economy effectively.

The consequences, according to the PDP, are stark—widespread hunger, despair, and desperation, reflected in protests and agitation, and an alarming rise in suicide rates across the country.

The PDP emphasises that President Tinubu, holding key responsibilities such as security and national economic policies, including the administration of petroleum resources as Minister of Petroleum Affairs, cannot shift the blame for incompetence and failure to other tiers of government.

The PDP points out that state governors have no control over national security, fiscal, and monetary policies, areas mismanaged by President Tinubu’s government, leading to severe economic repercussions.

The opposition party further contends that the pervasive corruption and monumental treasury looting occurring under President Tinubu’s administration are beyond the control of state governors.

It accuses the APC of attempting to divert attention from its own failures by launching an assault on the PDP and its governors.

In response to the APC’s apparent nervousness and fear of exposure, the PDP pledges to continue exposing alleged scams and fraudulent activities involving APC leaders.

The party asserts that the silence of APC leaders in the face of incompetence, treasury looting, and corruption in the Tinubu administration indicates complicity.

The PDP advises President Tinubu and the APC to confront their challenges and heed the call of PDP governors, who, according to the PDP, are providing quality leadership and implementing life-enhancing projects in their states.

The party asserts that it is only PDP governors and elected officials who are commissioning projects that uplift and enrich lives across Nigeria.

The PDP urges Nigerians to hold the APC and President Tinubu accountable for the nation’s hardships, vowing to expose alleged treasury plundering by APC leaders.

The PDP emphasises that the APC must not be allowed to compromise the nation’s patrimony at the expense of its citizens.
