Nigeria has called for a major review of visa policy between it and Qatar to remove restrictions on movement between the two countries.
The minister of aviation, Hadi Sirika, who made the call during a visit by the Charge d’Affaires of Qatar, Ahmed Mohammed Y.E. Al-Hor, to his office, said the visa restrictions between the two countries made it difficult for connectivity.
Sirika noted that Nigeria and Qatar need to improve their visa policies, noting that the restrictions on both sides are making it difficult to connect the two countries as expected.
He also said that Nigeria and Qatar should maintain a sustainable relationship, stating that Nigeria is yearning for investments and is also committed to its policy of ease of doing business for investors.
He said that the rate of return on investments in Nigeria is 34 percent, the highest in the world with a population of over 200 million people.
According to the Minister, Qatar is rich in oil and gas with other areas of investment, just as Nigeria equally has the infrastructure required for a smooth business operation.
