The federal government has appointed a new acting Accountant-General of the Federation (AGF), he is a director at the Treasury Single Account (TSA) department, Sylva Okolieaboh.

He replaces Chukwuyere Anamekwe who was named the acting AGF, two months ago after the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) arrested the substantive AGF, Ahmed Idris for N80 billion fraud.

The new appointment was due to an “in-house reshuffle exercise,” according to TheCable report on Monday.

A few weeks ago, reports emerged that Anamekwe was “under the radar of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over corruption allegations.”

Anamekwe was appointed as acting AGF in May mid a probe into allegations of N80 billion fraud linked to  Idris, former accountant-general of the federation.
