The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) is gearing up to showcase its strides in promoting indigenous content within the telecommunications sector at the upcoming Nigerian Telecommunications Indigenous Content Expo (NTICE 2023).

The event is scheduled to take place from August 22 to 24, 2023, at the Landmark Centre on Victoria Island in Lagos.

Under the theme “Harnessing Indigenous Content for Economic Growth: Networking to Boost Investment,” the NCC is rallying stakeholders for a significant participation, building on its impressive showing at the inaugural NTICE event held last year.

NCC’s Nigeria Office for Developing the Indigenous Telecom Sector (NODITS) is spearheading the coordination of NTICE, overseeing the effective implementation of the National Policy on the Promotion and Implementation of Indigenous Contents in the Telecommunications Sector (NPPIC).

NTICE 2023 is designed to be an inclusive platform for a wide range of participants, including indigenous telecom operators, manufacturers, regulators, government agencies, policymakers, innovators, industry leaders, startups, and global experts. The expo provides an opportunity to showcase products, services, innovative solutions, and new technologies across various sectors.

Driven by the provisions of the Nigerian Communications Act (NCA) 2003, which empowers the NCC to encourage both local and foreign investments in the country’s communications industry, the event aligns with the government’s focus on diversifying the economy through innovation in manufacturing, services, research and development, and skilled human resources.

The Executive Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of NCC, mar Danbatta emphasized that NTICE is a pivotal annual event for indigenous telecoms, technology, startups, manufacturing, and innovation. It serves as a platform to foster meaningful connections and relationships, showcasing the achievements and immense potential of Nigeria’s tech-driven digital economy.

The 2023 edition of NTICE is poised to spotlight the government’s achievements in promoting indigenous content within the sector. It will provide a stage for participants to unveil their offerings, from products and services to inventive solutions and emerging technologies.
