The Lagos State Government has revised its school calendar for the rest of the year as the second term of 2020/2021 academic session will now last for 61 days for public and private schools.

Public and Private Schools are expected to run the second term from January 18 to April 30, with mid-term break scheduled for March 4 and 5, according to the revised calendar.

The state Office of the Education Quality Assurance (OEQA) said there will also be two public holidays – Good Friday on April 2 and Easter Monday on April 5.

It said resumption for the third term has been scheduled for May 4, while the term is to terminate August 6.

The Education agency directed schools to strictly follow the time table and adjust their schedules appropriately.
Due to the outbreak of Covid-19, school calendar has been messed up across the country with many educational institutions running online to prevent the spread of the deadly disease.

The federal government had initially sought to postpone the resumption for the second term but many states prevailed on the FG to change its stance on resumption.

Many schools across the country resumed for the second term today, January 18 despite anxiety over the safety of the children due to the second wave of Covid-19 spread.
