The Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Ishaq Oloyede, has been named Chairman of the 2023 Annual Conference of the Guild of Corporate Online Publishers (GOCOP).

The revelation was made by the Chairman of the 2023 Conference Planning Committee, Danlami Nmodu, mni, in a press statement conveyed by Mr. Remmy Nweke, the Publicity Secretary of GOCOP.

Scheduled to take place at the prestigious Abuja Continental Hotel (formerly known as the Old Sheraton) in the Federal Capital Territory on Thursday, October 5, 2023, at 10:00 a.m., the conference bears the theme “Nigeria: Roadmap for Socio-Economic Recovery and Sustainability.”

Nmodu explained that the choice of this theme is a direct response to the current socio-political and economic realities facing Nigeria, following the emergence of a new cohort of leaders at the national and state levels after the 2023 general elections.

Notably, Ishaq Oloyede, a distinguished Nigerian scholar of Islamic Studies and former Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, will bring his wealth of experience to bear on this significant gathering.

He assumed the role of registrar and chief executive of JAMB for a second term in 2021 under the administration of immediate past President Mohammadu Buhari. In addition to his academic contributions, Oloyede has served as the Secretary-General of the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs since 2013, further illustrating his commitment to both education and religious affairs.
