FIRS, DPR, Customs get N20 bln as revenue collections fee in Aug ~NBS
Nigeria spent N20.08 billion as expenditure on revenue collections in August, the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) has said.
In its latest report, the NBS said the country paid the amount to three federal government agencies responsible for revenue collections as part of costs fo revenue collections for the month of July.
However, the amount released to the three agencies was short of the ₦26.757 billion disbursed to them in the previous month for carrying out similar services.
The country generated a total of N676.41 billion in the month of July marginally higher than ₦676.407 billion in the previous month and was distributed among the three tiers of government.
The breakdown of the released to the three agencies showed that the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) received the highest amount of N10.21 billion in the month of July.
The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) got the second-highest amount of N5.65 billion while the Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) received N4.22 billion as the cost of revenue collections in July.
