Customs Ag CG Adeniyi decorates newly appointed management team, stresses revenue, professionalism

The Acting Comptroller-General of Customs (CGC), Bashir Adewale Adeniyi MFR, conducted a symbolic decoration ceremony on Monday to honor six members of his Management Team.

During the event held at the Customs Headquarters in Abuja, the Ag. CGC urged the newly appointed officers to redouble their commitment and dedication to the success of the Nigeria Customs Service.

The appointments of three Deputy Comptrollers-General and three Assistant Comptrollers-General were made in recognition of their demonstrated dedication and commitment to service.

These appointments mark the first time the Ag. Comptroller-General of Customs, CG Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, has decorated members of the Service’s Management Team since assuming his role on 19th June 2023, following his appointment by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR.

Within two months of his appointment, President Tinubu approved the promotion of Festus Okun, Musa Baba Abdullahi, and Albashir Hamisu to the position of Deputy Comptroller Generals (DCGs), and Kamardeen Olumoh, Auwal Mohammed, and Adeogun Alajogun as Assistant Comptroller Generals (ACGs).

During the decoration ceremony, the Ag. CGC emphasized the high expectations placed upon the newly promoted officers and called on them to enhance their devotion and determination in promoting the Nigeria Customs Service. He urged them to renew their commitment and add value to the organization.

Responding on behalf of the newly appointed DCGs, Deputy Comptroller General of Customs, Festus Okun, expressed gratitude to President Tinubu for his unwavering belief in their capabilities. He assured that the appointed officers would discharge their responsibilities with utmost professionalism.

The decorated officers are now tasked with assuming their new roles and contributing to the continued growth and success of the Nigeria Customs Service.
