CIBN To Hold AGM, Election Virtually On April 4

PRESS RELEASE: The Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN) said it will hold its Annual General Meeting (AGM) Virtually on Saturday, April 4, 2020.
In a statement, the CIBN said its President/Chairman of Council ‘Uche Olowu is expected to preside over the AGM.
“In line with the Institute’s tradition, Chairmen and Chief Executives of banks, Past Presidents of the Institute, Presidents of other professional bodies, top Government functionaries, Fellows, Honourary Senior Members, Associates, International organisations and other relevant stakeholders have been invited to join the online meeting.
The institute said its 2020 Election would also be conducted via an off-site electronic voting system. “By this, voters can vote from the comfort of their homes in any part of the globe,” the statement said.
According to the CIBN, voting will commence at 12.01 am on Wednesday, April 1, 2020, and close at 12.01 am on Saturday, April 4, 2020.
“The Election notification message has been sent to eligible voters via email and/or SMS to exercise their franchise.”
At the AGM, members will consider the Annual Reports and Accounts of 2019 operational performance of the Institute and other important matters affecting the industry and the welfare of members.
The event, the statement said would be live-streamed via the Institute’s Official Youtube Channel while the link to the meeting will be sent to media on demand.
