CBN eNaira Speed Wallet back on Google store

After an upgrade, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) digital currency, eNaira Speed Wallet app is back on Google Store 24 hours after it sudden disappearance.

The app hadd went missing on Google Store after its launch on Monday. The app had met with criticism as users struggled to link their emails and BVNs. Before it went offline, the app had been downloaded by over 100,000 people.

The CBN spokesperson, Osita Nwanisobi said that the sudden disappearance of its newly launched e-naira speed wallet from Google’s play store was a temporary measure to upgrade the app for efficiency.

Nwanisobi said the upgrade the enaira app was undergoing was meant to tackle glitches noticed since its launch.

He assured that the app is well secured as it relied on encryption technology with two factor verification to make it difficult to be bridged.

The app which went missing Wednesday morning and came live around 1.00 pm on Thursday.

The information of the eNaira Speed Wallet app on Google Store showed that it was last updated on Monday, 25th October.

A mobile developer said the app could have gone missing from the store for a myriad of reasons. According to the developer, it could also be because the app has flouted one of Google’s policies or because the developers took it down, Punch quoted a developer.
