The Football Association fined Arsenal £40,000 on Friday for failing to control their players during this week’s goalless Premier League draw with Newcastle United.

In Tuesday’s game, Arsenal was denied two late penalty claims, while member of the team confronted referee Andrew Madley deep into stoppage time to request penalty for possible handball.

The appeals were dismissed by Madley, who issued nine yellow cards.

“Arsenal FC admitted that it failed to ensure that its players acted in an orderly manner during the 95th minute,” the FA said in statement.

The FA charged the north London club for the same reasons during the 3-0 FA Cup win over Oxford United on Thursday.
