Amidst a legal tug-of-war, the All Progressives Congress (APC) has reiterated the status of Abdullahi Ganduje as the national chairman of the party, dismissing the initial court order affirming his suspension.

The National Publicity Secretary of the ruling party, Felix Morka asserted the party’s stance during an interview on Arise Television.

Morka emphasized that the APC would not recognize the earlier court order, citing that Ganduje had not been formally served with any summons regarding the suspension.

Morka stated the party’s support for the recent ruling by a Federal High Court in Kano, which called for a stay of the suspension order. The ruling came in response to Ganduje’s exparte motion seeking to enforce his right to a fair hearing, with respondents including law enforcement agencies and several individuals.

Commenting on the legal proceedings, Morka highlighted concerns over the legitimacy of the individuals behind Ganduje’s suspension, questioning their status as recognized party members.

He critiqued the earlier court’s decision, expressing reservations about the far-reaching implications of an exparte motion.

Despite the ongoing legal maneuvering, Morka affirmed that Ganduje’s position as national chairman remains unchanged until the party receives formal notification of any legal rulings. He reiterated the APC’s commitment to maintaining the status quo and supporting Ganduje’s leadership.
