The Nigerian political landscape is set to witness a gathering of eminent personalities, as the President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio; the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas; and former Minister of Information and Communication, Frank Nweke Jr., will be among the dignitaries at the public presentation of Omoniyi Ibietan’s latest book on Cyber Politics.
The event, scheduled for Tuesday, July 25, will take place at the main auditorium of the Communications and Digital Economy Complex in Mbora District, Abuja. Akpabio will be the special guest of honour, while Mr. Abbas will attend as the guest of honour.
Nweke, who served as the Enugu State governorship candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in the last elections, will chair the occasion. Interestingly, the book’s author, Omoniyi Ibietan, had been Mr. Nweke’s special assistant on media during his ministerial term.
A host of other distinguished personalities will also grace the event, including Vice Admiral Awwal Gambo (rtd), the immediate past Chief of Naval Staff; Hadiza Bala Usman, the Special Adviser to the President on Policy Coordination; Waziri Adio, founder of Agora Policy Think Tank and former Executive Secretary of NEITI; Idayat Hassan, Executive Director of the Centre for Democracy and Development; Dapo Olorunyomi, Chief Executive Officer of Premium Times Group; Prof. Abiodun Adeniyi, Deputy Dean of the School of Postgraduate School, Baze University; and Dr. Hussaini Abdu, Executive Director of CARE International.
